There's a GVSU Bus Stop Right outside Your Front Door

Grand Valley students who live off campus in Allendale apartments have at least one thing in common: they all have to get to class. If you’re new to GVSU or have only lived on campus in the dorms before, you might not realize how important it is to be able to travel to campus quickly and easily.

No one enjoys a long commute, and no one loves a long walk to the bus stop. This is Michigan, and the weather during the normal school year is frequently rainy or snowy, so the less time you have to spend outdoors getting back and forth to school, the better.

Fortunately for Meadows Crossing residents, neither the commute to the bus stop nor to campus is very long. Meadows Crossing located on the corner of 48th Avenue and West Campus Drive, and the property is a long rectangle that is 650 feet deep and 1320 feet wide. There are two bus stops located along this property line, all outside the front doors of our townhouses, which means that no Meadows Crossing resident has to walk more than 550 feet to get to a bus stop. To compare, for residents of other GVSU apartment complexes, the walk to the nearest bus stop is nearly 4 times as long.

The GVSU transportation service consists of buses that circle around campus every four minutes following various routes. One of these buses takes students from Meadows Crossing directly to campus without any stops. Students taking a bus in the opposite direction have a similar benefit: the first stop after the bus leaves campus is at Meadows Crossing. This is because our townhouses are conveniently located directly across from GVSU’s Allendale campus. We are so close that it’s also walkable or bikeable for students who prefer getting more exercise or like being outdoors in better weather.

Whether commuting by bus, by bike, or by foot, it doesn’t take very long to get back and forth to class or anywhere else on campus. Many of our residents say that this convenience is one of the reasons why they choose to renew their leases year after year. Saving minutes of commuting every day leaves more time for studying, for socializing, or for work. Whatever you need to do more of, you’ll be able to devote the time to it by living at Meadows Crossing.

Before you make your choices about where to live next year in Allendale, take into account all of the pros and cons, including the ease of the commute. We feel confident that because of this and our other advantages, you’ll choose Meadows Crossing as the right GVSU apartment for you this coming school year.
