The Bathroom Advantage at Meadows Crossing

If you are a college student and have never lived in an apartment before, it can be hard to know ahead of time what will be important or even crucial to a good living experience. Access to privacy is one thing most of Meadows Crossing’s residents will recommend about living in our townhomes. Another is the bathrooms. We offer an important bathroom advantage: our townhome units have bathrooms that are private to each bedroom as well as a half bathroom for our residents and their guests to use communally.

What’s So Important about a Bathroom?

Meadows Crossing was built with our residents’ comfort and privacy in mind. It’s why each bedroom has generous closet space and its own bathroom. Every private bath includes a large mirror and a medicine chest in it for the resident’s personal belongings. They also are designed for efficient moisture removal. Every bathroom has an extra high powered fan that clears away steam after a shower or bath so that mold or bacteria do not become an issue.

The majority of our private bathrooms are equipped with showers, but every unit has one bathroom that is equipped with a bathtub, so both are options our residents can choose (if they sign a lease early enough). If you have a preference about your private bathroom, please let the staff in our leasing office know when you inquire about renting.

A Half Bathroom for Guests and General Use

Nearly all of Meadows Crossing’s units do have half bathrooms. Ten units do not, including our Style A Barrier-Free units, and the Style F and Style G units located above the clubhouse. These units offer different advantages.

The rest of our units were built to include a half bathroom off the common areas. We designed them this way because they offer our residents several advantages. The first is that anyone using the common areas of the townhome like the kitchen or the living area can easily use a bathroom without having to get up, go to their bedroom, and then go through the bedroom to their own private bathroom. The half bath is conveniently located – it’s right there.

The second reason is because college students throw parties. Parties are fun, but they can also be messy, and residents don’t always know who everyone is at a party. If there is a half bathroom available, no one has to open up their own private bathroom to strangers who might mess it up or take their personal belongings. The half bath eliminates arguments between roommates and also helps them avoid security issues or theft from their rooms and bedrooms.

Don’t All GVSU Apartments Have Half Baths?

Many of them do not. In fact, the three newest student apartment complexes constructed in Allendale did not include half baths when they designed their apartments. Meadows Crossing is proud of the bathroom advantage our townhomes have. It’s just another way we work to keep our residents happy and safe.
