Grand Valley Draws Prospective Students From All Walks of Life

Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan, is a four-year college that offers over 200+ areas of study. The college attracts students from all walks of life from across the United States as well as internationally.

Grand Valley has achieved many goals and national attention in the last few years. Quoting from GVSU’s website:

“But perhaps the greatest attention (well, apart from football, see below) has been drawn to the campus in recent years by its pioneering efforts in campus sustainability and green building. In 2004, Grand Valley launched a formal sustainability initiative. By 2009 it was named as one of the top 25 environmentally responsible and cutting edge green colleges in the Kaplan College Guide 2009.”

The article goes on to point out that in 2004, Grand Valley’s recognition for sustainability efforts grew exponentially with the construction of the Michigan Alternative and Renewable Energy Center in Muskegon.

What ultimately brought GVSU to the attention of TV viewers nationwide, was its football team. When the Grand Valley Lakers beat Valdosta State in the National Division II finals in 2002, they brought home the University’s first National Title. They didn’t give up there, though–they did it again in 2003, 2005, and 2006! These successes drew attention from a variety of places, including one of West Michigan’s most substantial businesses. And the rest, they say, is history.

Grand Valley State University is rich in history and diversity. It’s outstanding achievements and accomplishments, as well it’s persistence in pushing forward, has helped bring the university to the attention of thousands, nationally and internationally. Students today benefit from the growth that has resulted from these past efforts.

For educational excellence, GVSU offers prospective college students a big step forward on a path to a successful life.
