Listed below are a few important winter reminders for residents at Meadows Crossing! Keep reading for helpful information, as well as tips and tricks to tackle common winter maintenance, parking, and snow removal.
Leasing Office Winter Hours:
Monday – Friday: 10 am to 4:30 pm and Saturday: 10 am to 3:00 pm
Winter Reminders: Common Work Orders
Heat: The most common maintenance work order we receive from tenants during the winter season is heating. During winter, tenants must keep their thermostats at a minimum of 65 degrees in their townhomes and apartments. If your unit is too hot upstairs, but too cold downstairs try closing at least one vent in each upstairs bedroom to push more heat to the downstairs area. Keeping the blinds shut will also help keep heat in during cold days. If you experience any issues with your heat after hours, please immediately contact on-call maintenance at (616) 889-7087.
Cold Weather Maintenance: Be sure to submit any work orders regarding; damaged weather stripping near front/back doors, frozen or hard-to-open locks, and any cold air coming into the unit through the front or back door of your unit.
Regular cleaning of the floors and baseboards will help prevent damage from salt build-up inside your unit. Sweeping and mopping daily also helps with snow and salt build-up within the unit.
Winter Reminders: Parking
Please be sure to move your vehicle occasionally during winter months to allow for proper snow plowing and snow removal around the property. This allows our maintenance staff to better clear sidewalks and parking spots. When parking your vehicle, make sure the front/back end of your vehicle isn’t hanging over the sidewalk. This prevents any dings or damages to your vehicle from snow plows and allows for better snow removal around the property. Friendly reminder that our covered carport parking is FREE to residents with parking passes, feel free to utilize these during snowfall!
Winter Reminders: Shovel Rentals
During the winter months, the leasing office has shovels set aside for residents to check out during open hours! These snow shovels are for residents to utilize for shoveling snow around their units and cars during and/or after heavy snowfall. We just ask that the shovels be returned within the same day so other residents are able to utilize them as well!
