For those living in Meadows Crossing’s Apartments near GVSU, campus life isn’t about just staying inside their homes relaxing with their roommates; it is about the community that Meadows offers to its residents. Frequently, Meadows Crossing plans events for its residents so they have opportunities to learn and grow while living there. One event that Meadows Crossing recently planned was a tour of the clock tower on Grand Valley’s Allendale campus. Residents had the opportunity to meet some of the employees in the leasing office and then car pool to campus.
Kelly Butler, a resident at Meadows’ off campus apartments near GVSU said, “It was a great opportunity to learn some history about not only the clock tower, but about Grand Valley’s history. I had no idea that there was anyone who played the bells inside the clock tower.” Another event that Meadows Crossing hosts monthly is movie night. This month, Meadows is showing both Batman movies in celebration of the third Batman release coming out July 20th. During movie night, Meadows supplies pop and popcorn.
Meadows strives to have the best community out of all the apartments near GVSU in Allendale. We sponsor holiday events for the residents so they can have some festive fun. Every Halloween we have a door decorating contest. The residents decorate their doors and whoever has the most creative door wins a prize. Also, we pair up with Delta Tau Delta, a fraternity on Grand Valley’s campus, and hosts a Halloween zombie walk. Everyone puts on their best zombie attire and walks around the complex as a zombie. Last year was the first year hosting a zombie walk and nearly 200 residents and people from the community came out to celebrate the holiday.
